What is a Health Champion?
A Health Champion is someone who:
- Cares about their community
- Shares trusted health messages
- Supports friends, family, and neighbours to live healthier lives
You do not need any previous experience. We provide free training and resources to help you feel confident in your role.
Why become a Health Champion?
By joining, you can:
- Learn new skills and gain knowledge about health and wellbeing
- Meet new people and be part of a supportive network
- Make a real difference to the health of Sunderland communities

How to get involved

- We will contact you with details about the next training session
To become an official Health Champion, we ask that you complete the following core modules:
- Alcohol Brief Intervention
- Smoking Brief Intervention
- Understanding Health Improvement
Once you have completed these three core modules, you will receive a certificate and be entered into our quarterly prize draw for a £20 gift voucher. If you attend our annual Celebration event in March, you will be presented with a pin badge and entered into additional prize draws.
