Healthy Eating Awareness

Whatever your age, eating a healthy, balanced diet is an important part of maintaining good health and wellbeing.

This means eating a wide variety of foods in the right proportions and consuming the right amount of food and drink to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.

This awareness session covers:

  • The importance of a healthy and balanced diet
  • Providing advice to others on how to achieve a healthy and balanced diet
  • National guidance on portion sizes and recommended calorie intake  
  • Different food groups and the impact on the body
  • Food labelling
  • Signposting to national and local resources
