Theatre Space North East present Shakespeare’s classic in a modern-verse translation by Amy Freed in association with Play On Shakespeare.

Set outside (weather permittable otherwise will move indoors) at St Peters Church, Roker on a Pay as you Feel / Free basis. Bring a picnic blanket or foldable chairs…. Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Synopsis:

Katherina has never quite fit the mould in the impossibly over-filtered meat market of modern beauty standards in which her insta-perfect sister Bianca seems so at home.

However, with studly suitors knocking, Kate is stalling her beloved sister’s quest to climb the social ladder. Cue Petruchio, whose not-quite-sigma strategies ensure that fun and games ensue. But has he bitten off more than he can chew? For he’s never encountered the likes of this shrew…
