Sunderland LGBT+ Network is the largest LGBT+ organization in Sunderland, dedicated to promoting equality throughout the city. Our team of dedicated volunteers offers a variety of services including events, support groups, training courses, hate crime reporting, and access to information and resources.
In the past, our team spearheaded Sunderland Pride, the city’s biggest diversity celebration event. Since its inception in 2011, Sunderland Pride has drawn in thousands of attendees each year. In pursuit of new perspectives, the mantle of organizing this event has now been passed on to Out Northeast, who are hosting a month-long Pride Event.
We are managed by a board of directors consisting of local residents and members of the LGBT+ community in the North East, Sunderland LGBT+ Network strives to raise awareness about discrimination, stigma, and hate crimes and to address social isolation among those impacted by LGBT+ issues, including health and mental well-being. By organizing various events and promoting volunteerism, we work together towards our objectives of benefiting the local community.
