SAIL (Sunderland Altogether Improving Lives) is a dynamic, multi-agency partnership operating from a co-located hub in Sunderland City Centre. It brings together Sunderland City Council’s Community Safety and Environmental Services, Northumbria Police, the Violence Reduction Unit, Youth Offending Services, Together for Children, and a range of key partners.

Through a shared commitment to early intervention, problem-solving, and intelligence-led working, SAIL delivers a coordinated response to crime, anti-social behaviour, and environmental issues affecting the city centre. The partnership works proactively with children, young people, families, individuals, businesses, and local communities, ensuring that support and enforcement are applied in a balanced and effective way.

By combining resources, expertise, and real-time information, SAIL is able to identify emerging issues quickly, target those most in need of intervention, and deliver sustainable solutions. This collaborative approach not only reduces crime and anti-social behaviour but also enhances environmental quality, strengthens community confidence, and supports a safer, cleaner, and more vibrant city centre for all.
