Join Links with Nature and our project supporters for a fun-filled day of outdoor and nature-based activities. We have activities suitable for all ages!

Fun Day Activities

  • Story telling with Captain Raggy Beard at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30 (Lasting 40 minutes)
  • Axe-throwing and Archery with Rewilding Adventure
  • ‘Cabinet of Natural Curiosities’ Table hosted by Ornithologist Michael Turner
  • Guided Nature Walks with Microsite
  • Hose rolling, Fire Engines and Police Cars with HALO (Hetton Aspirations Linking Opportunities)
  • Links with Nature Tractor
  • North East Community Forest
  • Nature-based Crafts by Links with Nature

 

Event Information

Event runs from 10am-3pm. Please book a ticket to attend. Free tickets are available on Eventbrite: https://lwnfunday.eventbrite.co.uk Activity sign up is on the day, with the activity you want to sign up for. Try a few or as many as you’d like! Event registration is in the Durham Wildlife Trust Gazebo.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes, as this event is outdoors. This event is weather permitting (any adverse weather or weather warnings issued, ticketholders will be notified if event is cancelled).

Children attending must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times. Lost Children will be taken to First Aid Point next to the Springboard Adventure Building.

Free car parking is available on site.

The Lakes Cafe will be open to purchase food and freshments. Toilets can be found inside Springboard Adventure/Lakes Cafe, to the near of the building. Water drinking fountains are available in the toilets next to the changing rooms.
