We will be working to improve the park by collecting litter, enhancing the area for people and wildlife. This Community Clean Up is delivered through collaboration with Sunderland City Council, and Coalfield Clean It Green It. Drop in with our project team on the day or register as a volunteer to get involved!

The area we are working at is near the Stephenson Lake, which is a short walk from the meeting point. There is another carpark here so if it is more convenient for you, you can meet at 10:15am at Stephenson Carpark | WHat3Words: ///avoid.bibs.evenly. Please notify the Links with Nature Team if you wish to meet by the Stephenson Lake.

No prior experience required. If you are new to volunteering or the task, correct tool use will be demonstrated. The ongoing management and environmental benefits will also be discussed. All tools and any PPE, including gloves, and safety glasses will be provided on the day.
 
Walking boots or wellies recommended, depending on weather conditions.
 
We ask that you please bring a packed lunch if staying for the duration of the session. We usually have lunch around 12pm. Alternatively you can purchase food from the Lakes Cafe.
Please note, toilet facilities can be found inside the Lakes Cafe/Springboard Adventure Building. There are water fountains available inside the toilets to refill water bottles. The Lakes Cafe is open 9am-3pm.
