We will be working to improve the Herrington Burn by collecting litter, enhancing the area for people and wildlife. This Community Clean Up is delivered through collaboration with Sunderland City Council, and Coalfield Clean It Green It. Drop in with our project team on the day or register as a volunteer to get involved!
 
Please meet at the end of Bamburgh Crescent, Shiney Row, Houghton le Spring, DH4 4RX by the footpath leading down to the burn. Please park responsibly as the surrounding area is residential. What3Words: ///transmitted.solar.hotel

No prior experience required. If you are new to volunteering or the task, correct tool use will be demonstrated. The ongoing management and environmental benefits will also be discussed. All tools and any PPE, including gloves, and safety glasses will be provided on the day.
 
Walking boots or wellies recommended, depending on weather conditions.
 
We ask that you please bring a packed lunch if staying for the duration of the session. We usually have lunch around 12pm.
