Level 1 Award in an Introduction to Early Years Settings
This introductory childcare qualification is designed for parents, carers, volunteers and anyone interested in supporting young children in early years environments.
Learners will gain an understanding of childcare practice, including the importance of play in children’s development, the roles and responsibilities of carers and volunteers, and the value of building positive links within the local community. The course focuses on supporting children from birth to 5 years and provides a solid foundation for further study or volunteering within early years settings such as pre-schools and nurseries.
Course Delivery
The course is completed over 3 weeks and can be studied in a way that suits your needs:
- Attend weekly face-to-face sessions every Tuesday at our office
- Join sessions remotely through our online learning platform
- Complete the course independently through self-directed online learning
Progression Opportunities
On successful completion, learners can progress to:
- Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges
- Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People
- Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (England)
