National Age Without Limits Day is all about challenging ageism and showing that age is no barrier to living life to the fullest. Whether you’re 8 or 80, there’s something for everyone – get involved, and help celebrate the power of positive ageing! Please check times and venues for each event below.
Ageing Wild & Well – Organised by Durham Wildlife Trust
Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve DH4 6PU – Wednesday 11 June, 9am–12noon and 1–4pm
For people over 50. A chance to engage in a range of nature-based activities followed by a workshop on ageing well and challenging ageism.

Morning session
A Story of Ageing and Ageism in Washington – Organised by Crafting Connections CIC
Lambton Community Hub, Hambleton Road, Washington, NE38 0QA – Wednesday 11 June, 10am–5pm
An interactive exhibition to celebrate ageing in Washington. Admire art produced by the local community. Watch a documentary telling stories of ageing. Read about ageing and ageism as experienced by the community. With a special performance from the One Voice Choir at 2pm. No booking required.
“No Limits” Garden Party – Organised by Roker Life
Roker United Reformed Church SR6 9JP – Wednesday 11 June, 12noon–3pm
A garden party to “Celebrate Ageing and Challenge Ageism”. A day of fun! Dance, food, music, poetry, singing, arts and crafts, laughter, yoga… and more!
