Project Absolute – Building Routine, Confidence and Connection
Delivered by: Not A Statistic Northeast CIC
Supported by: The National Lottery Community Fund & The Not A Design Agency Project
About the Project
Project Absolute is a free, one-to-one support programme designed to help individuals aged 16 and over rediscover structure, confidence, and community connection.
Over the course of six guided sessions across four weeks, participants work directly with a trained support worker to set personal goals, build a routine, and take positive steps toward a more active, connected life.
Whether it’s getting involved in local activities, volunteering, or simply finding the motivation to re-engage socially, Project Absolute helps people take that first step – at their own pace and with compassionate, lived-experience support.
Who It’s For
Project Absolute is open to anyone aged 16+, living in Sunderland or the surrounding areas, who may be:
-
Feeling isolated, unmotivated, or out of routine
-
Looking to reconnect with their local community
-
Hoping to build confidence before returning to work, volunteering, or training
-
Seeking structured, one-to-one wellbeing support outside clinical services
There’s no requirement to have attended any other Not A Statistic Northeast peer groups – just a willingness to engage and explore positive change.
What to Expect
Each participant receives tailored guidance over six sessions:
-
Goal setting & support planning
-
Building motivation and daily routine
-
Recognising skills and strengths
-
Community connection and volunteering opportunities
-
Reviewing progress and overcoming barriers
-
Celebrating achievements and planning next steps
Sessions are relaxed, person-centred, and completely confidential. Higher-risk participants are supported directly by founder Shane Knox, with trained Project Support Workers assisting where appropriate.
Location & Access
Sessions are delivered at accessible community venues including The Old Rectory (Houghton-le-Spring), The Beacon of Light (Sunderland), and the Washington Millennium Centre(Washington) along with a whole host of fantastic local community based projects.
There is no cost to take part, and travel support can be discussed if needed.
