Not A Statistic Northeast CIC – Social Drop-Ins

Across Sunderland, Houghton-Le-Spring and Washington.

Taking the first step toward support can feel overwhelming – so we make it easier by taking that step with you. Our Social Drop-In offers a calm, welcoming space for anyone aged 16+ who’s finding things difficult, feeling isolated, or unsure how to access support. Whether you’re struggling with your mental health, dealing with anxiety, or just feeling disconnected, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Run by Not A Statistic Northeast CIC, a lived-experience-led organisation providing free peer support across Sunderland and County Durham, this Drop-In is designed to help people gently build confidence, meet others, and take the first steps toward accessing our wider group sessions – at your own pace.

What you’ll find at the Social Drop-In:

  • Free tea and coffee

  • A calm space to settle, chat, or simply breathe

  • Games and books if you’d like something light and distraction-friendly

  • Friendly staff who understand lived experience

  • Support attending future peer groups if you’d like a hand getting started

There’s no pressure, no expectations – just a safe place to come as you are.

Weekly Sessions:

Every Monday, 1pm-3pm at OTTO Coffee, The Bunker, Sunderland

Every Tuesday, 10am–12 noon at Diego’s Joint, Sunderland

Every Thursday, 1pm-3pm at The Old Rectory, Houghton-le-Spring.

Every Friday, 1pm-3pm at Building Blocks, Concord, Washington.

If you’d like more information or support to attend, please reach out. We’re here to help you take that first step.

During Jan 2026-April 2026:

We have been funded to provide via Links for Life to provide sessions around the below;

Not A One-Size-Fits-All is a community-led wellbeing project for people who don’t feel at home in traditional health or lifestyle programmes. There’s no pressure, no lectures and no “perfect plan” – just honest conversations, flexible support and space to figure things out at your own pace.

The project offers relaxed, supportive sessions focused on building healthier routines, reducing isolation and talking openly about things like food, alcohol, gambling and wellbeing in a way that feels real and manageable. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure where to start, you’ll be met with understanding, not judgement.

Sessions are open to adults aged 16+ and you don’t need a referral, diagnosis or previous experience with support services. You can drop in, take part as much or as little as you want, and move forward in a way that works for you.

Because everyone’s journey looks different – and support should reflect that.
