Links with Nature is an exciting project working across 13 greenspaces in the Coalfields including Elemore Park, Hetton Lyons Country Park, Hetton Bogs, Copt Hill and Herrington Burn. Together with local residents, we working to help wildlife recover by improving woodlands, grasslands and wetlands. If you want to play an active part, do something practical, meet new people and feel healthy come along to one of our task sessions.
There are a variety of practical conservation tasks like cutting back vegetation, clearing ponds, raking grass, plus learning heritage skills like scything and coppicing, litter picks and much more!
Tasks take place weekly running 10:00-14:00 Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Sites vary each session and activities change weekly depending on the time of year. You can meet at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve or on site whatever is easier for you.
