Kinship Carers Peer Support Group

Every Thursday | 10:00am – 12:00pm

Our Kinship Carers Peer Support Group offers a warm, welcoming, and understanding space for anyone caring for a child through kinship arrangements, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and family friends.

Caring for a child can be both rewarding and challenging, and having the support of others who truly understand your journey can make a real difference. Our weekly group provides an opportunity to connect with other kinship carers, share experiences, access information, and build a supportive network within the community.

Benefits of attending:

  • Meet and connect with other kinship carers who understand your experiences
  • Reduce feelings of isolation and build lasting friendships
  • Share advice, knowledge, and practical tips in a safe and supportive environment
  • Access information about local services, resources, and support available to kinship families
  • Improve wellbeing through peer support and social connection
  • Gain confidence in navigating the challenges and rewards of kinship care
  • Enjoy time to talk, listen, and feel supported by others who truly understand

What to expect:

  • Friendly and informal group discussions
  • Opportunities to share experiences and learn from others
  • Information and signposting to relevant services and support
  • Tea, coffee, and refreshments provided
  • A safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment

Whether you are new to kinship care or have been caring for a child for many years, you are welcome to join us. Together, we can support one another and celebrate the important role kinship carers play in children’s lives.
